L’horloge Fleurie (The Flower Clock)
Clocks come in all shapes and sizes, and the L’horloge Fleurie (The Flower Clock) is by no means the largest. Despite that, it’s a popular photography spot for tourists, especially due to its changing floral pattern. However, what most tourists don’t know is that the clock’s second hand is the largest in the world with a length of just over eight feet (2.5 meters).
The clock and surrounding flower bed were designed by landscape architect Armand Auberson in 1955 and has been updated four times a year ever since by him and several generations of gardeners specializing in mosaiculture.
The project is completely free of pesticides or other artificial products, with weekly checkups by gardeners.
