The Granite Garden Gallery
Admire an ever-changing landscape of stone sculptures.
The Granite Garden Gallery is magical, in part because it’s always evolving and changing. Or because it’s down a long winding road, dirt for a while and just as you start to think you’re on the wrong path you see another sign and eventually pop out into this charming spot. Giant-sized granite chairs and tables, along with other stone sculptures, provide spaces to rest.
Depending on when you visit (it’s open year-round, 24/7), the “on display” sculptures come and go, the gardens and landscaping shift, and the view of Cadillac Mountain in the distance may or may not be visible. This is an old granite quarry site, with trails all around it. You may encounter Obadiah Buell, the artist-owner, working in the yard, or you may meet no one at all.
This is a self-guided adventure, follow the signs, read about things as you move around the property, find a small more “craft” type sculpture (think stone vase, necklace, lamp or soap holder).
