The Long Island Puppet Theater
The last standing puppet theater on Long Island.
Nestled in a residential side street of Hicksville, New York, is a candy-striped circus tent building known only as “The Long Island Puppet Theater.”
This theater has been a remarkable part of Long Island’s history for over 20 years and houses a museum of puppets from around the world dating as far back as the 1800s.
The interior of this locale is a gilded wonderland combing elements of the Baroque and Victorian-era art with the wildest fantasies of one’s own imaginings.
Here you can come and see a puppet show almost any day of the week beneath the fairy garden that hangs above the audience seating, or simply lose yourself to the charming decor and handmade craftsmanship that adorns the theater from top to bottom, inside and out.
