I live in rainy Portland, Oregon where I am working on a thesis about folklore in China, although I prefer to write fantastic tales of my own. For my next trip I will to take the Trans-Siberian railway from Moscow to Beijing, in the winter. I will wear an over-sized parka and drink vodka from a flask warmed in my breast pocket. In Harbin I will stop for the Spring Lantern Festival where I will commission an ice sculpture in my own likeness.
