Anna Marlis Burgard is the founding author of Islands of America: A River, Lake and Sea Odyssey (www.islandsofamerica.com). Her most recent book drawn from these adventures on more than 100 islands is The Beachcomber’s Companion: An Illustrated Guide to Collecting and Identifying Beach Treasures (Chronicle Books, 2018). Burgard’s work on these and other projects has been featured on BBC Radio 1, NPR, Roadfood.com and Yahoo! Travel and in Garden & Gun, The New Yorker, Parade and Real Simple. She lives on Tybee Island, Georgia.
