Peter Schumer

I teach a wide variety of mathematics courses and those related to the game of go and its East Asian cultural aspects. Have been a professor at Middlebury College since 1983. Main math research interests include number theory and the history of mathematics. I have published two mathematics books, been awarded the Trevor Evans Award of the Mathematical Association of America (2000) and the American Go Federation's Teacher of the Year Award (2021).
